Ivy Drive Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Posted Date: 08/26/26 (04:42 PM)

Dear Ivy Drive Families,

We are excited to welcome our students back to Ivy Drive tomorrow! As we prepare for a safe and successful start to the school year, please review the following arrival and dismissal procedures for all K–5 students. Your cooperation helps us ensure that arrival and dismissal are safe, organized, and efficient for everyone.

Morning Arrival  (8:45–9:05 a.m.)

Families who choose to drive their child to school should use the parent drop-off line located along the front entrance of Ivy Drive School.
  • Please have your child seated on the passenger side of the vehicle so they can safely exit directly onto the sidewalk.
  • Ivy Drive staff will be outside each morning to open car doors and assist students as they exit their vehicles.
  • For the safety of our students and to keep the drop-off line moving efficiently, drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times.
  • Students may be dropped off between 8:45 and 9:05 a.m.
We appreciate everyone's patience, particularly during the first few days of school as students and families become familiar with our arrival routines.

Afternoon Dismissal | Parent/Guardian Pick-Up

Students who are being picked up by a parent, guardian, or other approved adult will be dismissed from designated locations based on grade level:
  • Kindergarten: Side Kindergarten Entrance
  • Grades 1 & 2: Back First Grade Hallway Entrance
  • Grades 3–5: Students Dismissed throug Main Entrance
For student safety, all parents, guardians, and approved individuals picking up a student must be prepared to show photo identification to Ivy Drive staff before a child will be released.

Early Dismissal Reminder

As a reminder, students cannot be dismissed through the main office during the final 30 minutes of the school day without prior notification to the main office. This is an especially busy time as we prepare close to 400 students for dismissal, buses, and parent/guardian pick-up. Whenever possible, please plan appointments and early dismissals accordingly.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain safe and efficient arrival and dismissal procedures. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and look forward to welcoming our students back to Ivy Drive for a fantastic school year!

Warmly,
Erika Coleman
