Ivy Drive Weekly News: Week of April 21

Posted Date: 4/26/25 (5:18 PM)

Good Afternoon, Ivy Drive School Community:
I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
We've had another fantastic week at Ivy Drive School, and I'm excited to share some highlights with you in this edition of our Weekly News.
We had much to celebrate, starting with our amazing Administrative Assistants—Mrs. Battisti, Mrs. Chasse, Mrs. Vaughan, and Mrs. LaBoy. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to support our students, staff, and families, and they help keep our front office and library running smoothly. We are so grateful for all they do!

This week, we also celebrated Earth Day with a special Family Field Trip to the Barnes Nature Center on Tuesday, April 22. Many families joined us to participate in interactive learning stations, including sessions on birds of prey, honey bees, and an outdoor scavenger hunt. It was a wonderful way to connect with nature and learn together.

Our P.R.I.D.E. student leaders have been hard at work as well! These outstanding fourth and fifth graders are role models in our school and have been preparing a presentation to help model and reinforce our school-wide expectations. We’re proud of their leadership and dedication to supporting our school’s mission and vision.

Don’t forget—Dunphy’s Ice Cream Fundraiser is happening tomorrow, Sunday, April 27th, from 2–7 PM. If you mention "Ivy Drive School" during your visit, part of the proceeds will go to support our 4th Grade Committee. We hope to see you there—and I’ve heard a rumor that "Emerald," our school mascot, may be making a special appearance!
Best,
