Ivy Drive School Weekly News - Week of 11.3
Good Morning, Ivy Drive School Community,
Another amazing week of teaching and learning at Ivy Drive School!
We had so many wonderful things happening across our classrooms this week. Students in Ms. Zogaj’s fifth-grade class participated in the Connecticut Kid Governor election! They learned about the three branches of government and experienced the excitement of taking part in a statewide student election—an engaging and authentic way to see civic education in action!
In honor of Veterans Day, Ivy Drive School will be holding a Patriotic Spirit Day on Monday, November 10th. All students and staff are encouraged to show their patriotism by wearing red, white, and blue as we recognize and honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
Thank you for helping our students understand the importance of this day and for always showing Ivy Drive P.R.I.D.E. through your spirit, kindness, and support!

November Food Drive: November 5 - 21
Throughout the month of November, Ivy Drive is hosting a Food Drive to support families in our community. Students are encouraged to bring in canned or dry, non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Brian's Angels Homeless Outreach here in Bristol. Collection boxes are located in the main entrance hallway.A big thank you to our second-grade team and Mrs. Newman for organizing a Winter Clothing Drive in partnership with Healing Home Rescue, a local non-profit organization. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to collect and donate gently used and new jackets, gloves, and hats to support families in our community with warm winter clothing and accessories!
Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and thoughtfulness—our students, families and staff truly make Ivy Drive a special place for all!
Warmly,
-Erika Coleman,
Principal
