Ivy Drive Weekly News - Week of April 27
Good Morning Ivy Drive School Community:
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the beautiful spring weather. It has been another wonderful week here at Ivy Drive, filled with learning, creativity, and pride in our students’ accomplishments.
Ivy Drive 5th Grade Nutmeg Team Challenge:
This week, we want to take a moment to celebrate our incredible 5th Grade Nutmeg Team—Danny Aparo, Khadijettou Ba, Daria Dyrbavka, Sammy Emmert, and Erian Rivera—who represented Ivy Drive School in the Nutmeg Challenge Bowl. Our team competed against students from across the district and, after an impressive round of play, finished in a three-way tie for first place! While they narrowly missed the final question in a sudden-death round, their teamwork, preparation, and sportsmanship were outstanding. We are so proud of their effort and representation of Ivy Drive!
Looking Ahead - Bristol Schools Art Show :
We are excited to share that the Bristol Schools Art Show will open this week on Tuesday, May 5th from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Board of Education (129 Church Street, Bristol). Our Ivy Drive student artwork looks absolutely amazing, and we are incredibly proud of all of the students whose pieces were selected for display. This showcase highlights the creativity and talent of our young artists—be sure to stop by and take a look if you can!
SBA State Assessment Begin Next Week (Grades 3-5):
Beginning next week, our third, fourth, and fifth grade students will start the SBA State Assessments in Math and Literacy.
To help our students do their very best, we ask for your support in ensuring that your child:
- Gets a good night’s sleep
- Eats a healthy breakfast
- Arrives at school on time and ready to learn
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week: May 4 - 8:

Warmly,
