Dear Ivy Drive Families of Students in Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade: 
We are excited to share that the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) begin tomorrow! All students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in these statewide assessments in math and literacy throughout the month of May.

To help your child feel confident and prepared, please:

• Ensure they get a good night’s sleep
• Provide a healthy breakfast at home or have them arrive in time for breakfast at school
• Make sure they are on time and ready to begin the day - assessments will be administered in the morning! 

Our students have worked incredibly hard all year, building new skills and growing as learners—now it’s their time to show what they know!

To celebrate their effort and perseverance, students in Grades 3–5 will enjoy special incentives each Friday during testing.  

• Popsicles on the playground
• Popcorn and a movie
• Additional outdoor recess and game time

We look forward to a positive and successful testing season and are so proud of our Dragons for all their hard work!
