Ivy Drive Weekly News - Week of May 4-8

Posted Date: 05/09/26 (12:04 PM)

Dear Ivy Drive School Community:

As we move through the busy and exciting month of May, our students and staff continue to work hard each and every day, and our school has been filled with so many wonderful learning opportunities, celebrations, and special events. Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year.

This week, our students in grades 3–5 officially began the SBA Statewide Assessments in Math and Literacy. We are incredibly proud of the perseverance, focus, and effort our students demonstrated throughout the week. Thank you to our families for helping students arrive at school on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best each day. We also want to recognize our students in grades K–2, who created encouraging signs and posters that were proudly displayed throughout the grade 3–5 hallways to motivate and inspire their older peers during testing. What a wonderful example of kindness, encouragement, and school spirit at Ivy Drive!

Our students in the PALS Program also spent time this week working in our school courtyard gardens. Students helped clean up and plant flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables in the raised garden beds throughout our outdoor learning spaces. Many of the plants were first grown in our indoor hydroponics unit in the cafeteria before being transplanted outside into the community gardens. Thank you to Ms. Olivia and our PALS students for all of their hard work preparing and planting the gardens. We are excited to watch everything grow this spring!

We also proudly celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week this week at Ivy Drive! Our teachers and staff enjoyed many special treats and surprises throughout the week, including a luncheon catered by Cravings, coffee and pastries, desserts from Bisson Cakes, puppy cuddles from Firefly Meadow Service Dogs in training, and many other thoughtful gestures. A very special thank you to our amazing PTA for your generosity, thoughtfulness, and for truly spoiling our staff all week long. Your kindness and support mean so much to our entire Ivy Drive team.

As we begin looking ahead to the end of the school year, please be sure to save the following important dates:

Thank you for the love, support, encouragement, and care you provide to our students each and every day. We hope you enjoy a wonderful and relaxing weekend celebrating with your families.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community.
Best,
